Business A-Level at The Swan
Studying Business A level will enable you to gain an holistic understanding of business in a range of contexts including a critical understanding of organisations and their ability to meet society’s needs and wants. You will learn to generate enterprising and creative approaches to business opportunities, problems and issues, be aware of the ethical dilemmas and responsibilities faced by organisations and individuals and develop skills such as decision making, problem solving, and critical analysis.
6 Business GCSE OR 5 in GCSE Maths and a 5 in GCSE English Literature or GCSE Language

Theme 1: Marketing and people
Theme 2: Managing business activities
Theme 3: Business decisions and strategies
Theme 4: Global business
Paper 1 is worth 35% on themes 1 and 4, Paper 2 is worth 35% on themes 2 and 3 and Paper 3 is worth 30% on all themes based on a pre-release document.
Students must demonstrate:

AO2 Apply knowledge and understanding to various business contexts to show how individuals and organisations are affected by and respond to issues
AO3 Analyse issues within business, showing an understanding of the impact on individuals and organisations of external and internal influences
AO4 Evaluate qualitative and quantitative evidence to make informed judgements and propose evidence-based solutions to business issues
