Core Maths at The Swan
This course builds a broader base of mathematical understanding and skills in order to support the mathematical content in other subjects. For example, GCE A Level Biology, Business, Computer Science, Economics, Geography and Psychology. The four key strands: applications of statistics, linear programming, probability, and sequences and growth – are applied to a range of contexts, equipping students with the skills to apply mathematical concepts to a variety of situations. This course equips students with the skills needed to progress to university, employment or apprenticeships in a wide range of industries.
This qualification is suitable for students that wish to continue their mathematical studies, but are not taking A Level Maths or Further Maths.

Edexcel Level 3 Advanced GCE in Core Maths
2 x 1hr40 exams, each with 50% weighting.
