Financial Support for Families

All students at the Swan can benefit from:

• Free porridge at breakfast time
• Electives available as part of the school day, rather than parents paying for these as extra activities after school
• Second hand uniform sales, organised by SwanComm

Students eligible for Free School Meals (Year 7 to Year 11 only)

For students eligible for Free School Meals or pupil premium, we can offer the following support:

• Free school lunches until your child reaches the end of Year 11 (for those who become eligible for free school meals before March 25)
• Uniform vouchers of £75 per annum per child – please complete Uniform Voucher Request Form
• Subsidies on school visits classed as essential educational trips when requested
• Holiday food vouchers provided by Oxfordshire County Council (subject to Oxfordshire County Council continuing to provide the vouchers)
• Free or subsidised materials/resources for particular subjects, e.g. food technology ingredients

Other support for students in Year 7 to Year 11

Any family suffering financial hardship can apply for Bursary support – each application will be reviewed on a case by case basis.  Typical ways that we can support may include:

• Lending school uniform
• Subsidising the cost of some educational trips/visits
• Subsidising the cost of essential school materials required to be purchased by families
• Organising short term reductions to the cost of family dining
