At the end of August, 100 new Y7 students took part in The Swan School’s Summer School where they participated in a variety of exciting and interesting activities. Students demonstrated their creative skills through dance, poetry origami and baking whilst they worked on their team-building skills through both PE and their skilled rocket building – some amazing designs and long distances were achieved! Students displayed their fantastic detective skills on a murder mystery tour around Oxford University Parks. The enjoyable week culminated in a celebration event where students displayed their work for parents and staff alike to view, with students keener than ever to start at the school.
The expenditure on the summer school was £16,000 (staffing £14,500, external providers and resources £500, catering and cleaning £1,000), funded by the Department of Education.
